Psychiatry
We are frequently consulted for the treatment of anxiety, depression, insomnia, and obsessions, although the range of mental problems we address is extensive, including ADHD, conduct disorders, anorexia or bulimia, delusions, and hallucinations.
We also attend to all those situations that cause psychological distress even if they do not always constitute a mental disorder, such as family and couple problems, personality patterns with behaviors that cause conflicts and disappointments, or work problems.
“Thanks to Laura and her guidance, I managed to calm my anxiety and regain the peace of mind I had lost long ago. Today, I face my day-to-day life with more calm, clarity, and confidence. Her support marked a turning point in my life.”

Clinical Psychology
The current society of immediacy makes it increasingly difficult to manage daily problems, such as losses, having rebellious children, or going through an emotional breakup. These situations sometimes block us and prevent us from adopting the appropriate way to manage them.
It is important to go to psychological therapy to relieve discomfort in the face of stress, first symptoms of anxiety or depression. Through the acquisition of new tools, you will achieve emotional balance, stop the development of diseases and prevent disorders in the future.
Currently, statistics point to a considerable increase in the sale of self-help books, consultations for stress, anxiety, and depression, and treatments with anxiolytics and antidepressants. In many cases, these disorders affect your ability to function at work, family, and social relationships, and it is a good idea to go for an approach that combines psychological therapies with medication you may already be taking.
It consists of individualized attention, with empathy and closeness, considering each person's way of thinking and suffering, to help them find strategies to mitigate their discomfort. The treatment is carried out from an integrative perspective and is aimed at both adults and children and adolescents.
Integrative Psychotherapy is carried out considering several psychology models that explain human functioning:
- The Cognitive model: focuses therapy on thoughts as the cause of discomfort and deterioration of quality of life.
- The Behavioral model: addresses behavior, considered the problem itself, to replace problem behaviors with healthier ones.
- The Psychodynamic model: performs an analysis of biographical aspects to understand traumas, fears, or irrational beliefs that are behind emotional and behavioral reactions, and whose understanding allows modifying aspects of personality.
- The Systemic model: considers the person as part of a group (system) instead of doing it in isolation, to understand the social learning obtained from their interactions with family, friends, or partners, mainly, and modify the way they interact with those around them.
Integrative psychotherapy is the most effective psychotherapy to recover the person's balance in the emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and physiological plane of their functioning.
In Systemic Couples Therapy, the couple is understood as a system governed by rules defined by the interactions between the members and not so much by their individual traits. The goal of therapy will be to structure and organize the relationship, establishing new interaction patterns.
Some of the most important aspects to take into account during couples therapy are:
- The emotional climate, influenced by the personality traits of each member, family learning, emotional expression, previous experiences, and ways of coping with both daily and unexpected situations.
- The degree of differentiation and influence of families of origin.
- The acceptance of new types and forms of couple relationships.
- The professional-labor situation and aspiration of each one, expectations regarding offspring, etc.
- The sexual life of the couple.
Systemic Therapy is based on understanding the importance that social relationships have in the life of any individual. The word system refers to the group of people to which a person belongs and whose interrelationships affect their feelings and behavior. Among the various systems to which we belong and which configure our lives, the family nucleus is the main one.
In Systemic Family Therapy, the different roles of family members are taken into account, and each individual will know their position within the system and the functions that correspond to them (or not), the roles that have been assigned to them (or not), and will learn to identify negative relationships.
The goal is for family members to modify the way they interact to correct the patterns that are causing the imbalance. Family therapy advocates for a change in the structure of the system rather than changes at the individual level, and thus maintain its positive effects in a lasting way.
Some of the reasons to go to systemic therapy are crises caused by separation or divorce, illness or loss of a loved one, recent parenthood, retirement or emancipation of children, difficulty communicating with a child, and behavioral problems at school.
Systemic therapy also treats eating disorders, addictions, depression, and any other disorder that develops and has consequences in the family.
